Well I went looking for a newer GT this weekend to replace my 95 GT 'vert. I ended up with an '02 GT 'Vert. One of the cars I took for a spin was a 99 SVT. Man did that car ever go. I loved at how nice and quick the shifting was. What is available to make the GT shift like this without spending thousands?
Thanks
Chris

Are they easy to install?

If all the shifters I've ever tried on other people's cars, the MGW shifter was probably my favorite and definitely the one I'll wind up getting when I get around to it... very adjustable for your own personal preferences and really short throws. The next fave was the Steeda Tri-Ax.
Shifters are really simple to install.

All mentioned are great shifters. The Blu Thunder is also a nice shifter which i have used personally and feels great.

Isn't the Blue Thunder a knock-off of the Tri-Ax or something like that?
.... or that a different one that I'm thinking of?

Cheaper and they work great.
I've sold lots of them with no complaints.
