Good call on the floor supports. Good ol' Foxes.
Did you run into any badly rusted spots that you had to cut out and patch? It looks like the floor pan was in pretty good shape.

Nice bit of work. Yea, plenty more to go though. I'm in the same boat with my bucket of rust though the floorboards aren't in as bad of shape as your car. It's everything else that's toast. :)
I should dig up a couple of shots of cutting out the DS rocker panel....
Would you mind, Blainer?

Well since it is a ttop it had stress cracks in the floor pan and one spot on the drivers side needed and extra piece added where the new floorpan met the fire wall.

SilentNoise

T-top coupes are rare as it is, and when you consider that the 83 and 84 models were the least made Fox bodies, you're looking at a pretty obscure car.
Besides, converting a 4-eye to an aero nose is :nono:
If you wanted an 87-93, go and buy one.

I dont think so.....:nono: ...why would I make a 24 year old car look like a 87-93?? It would make the value go way down.

1. The car has stock springs and the tires are bigger than the factory size. I am getting a set of chrome pony's for it in the new year.
2. The color is 8D Med. Bittersweet Metallic (1981 Ford paint code)
3. The chrome door handles will match door locks, the chrome dew wipes that go on the door, and all the mouldings around the windows are chrome. It came like that from factory so I am not changing it.:2up:

Is that a vinyl roof liner you've got in there? Original or aftermarket? I've got one in my 83 T-topper as well, but no one makes replacement vinyl liners, just the carpeted style. I'm going to end up redoing my interior in black eventually, so it may come down to just having to dye the one I've got.

I am thinking of going with the 93 cobra wheels they would look killar. My turbines I couldnt turn down for 400 bucks and they have no curb rash. All that is wrong with them is the clear has hairline cracks. Plus they came with dust shields for all 4.

Well...the wife let me do all the resto to the car and the new house is putting a strain on the stang budget with me finishing the basement and yardwork. 5-lug would be a nice way to go for the future. some people told me for originality purposes to go back to what came on the car....TRX's but not a 500 buck a tire.

Ya, those metric tires are a joke and there's only something like one company that makes the damn things.
..... plus who wants 14" wheels? :P
In the end you have to decide whether or not you want to stay original or not before you begin anything. 83/84's are never going to be a real collector's car in the long run - not like the 82 GTs, 83 Verts, 79 Pace Cars, etc, so that's something to consider I guess.

I'd never put back the TRX suspension package because of someone else's sense of "originality" and that includes the wheels. It was so-so when it came out and the years haven't made it any better. I don't like plain pizza, I'm more of a fully loaded with stuff falling off the crust kinda guy. :)

TRX wheels are gay. I threw mine in the dump. damn half-size tires (metric) that only one company makes (Michelin). They were a garbage tire to boot.
What do you mean 'dust covers' on your turbines? Do those pics that you posted of the black LX show 'dust covers' on the 80's turbines, or is that 92-up cobra wheels painted black?

The turbines have dusty covers that are inserted before the wheel goes on. I am guessing thats the reason why they are in such excellent condition. I am concidering either the 93 cobras or these replica saleen wheels.
